Global Social Venture Competition

You would like to create a business with positive social or environmental impact? You would like to meet the various actors of the entrepreneurship sector (financiers, social entrepreneurs…). You would like to be mentored by experienced entrepreneurs? You would like to challenge students from the best business schools worldwide?

Enter the Global Social Venture Competition!

Global Social Venture CompetitionThe GSVC is the largest and oldest student-led business plan competition providing mentoring, exposure, and prizes for social ventures from around the world. The GSVC has been created in 1999 by MBA students from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. It is now present in France at the initiative of the social entrepreneurship centre of the ESSEC business school..

The GSVC provides entrant teams with visibility and access to an international forum of social entrepreneurs, financiers and business leaders. Teams from all around the world compete for more than $45,000 in cash and travel prizes. A grand prize of $25,000 will go to the plan that demonstrates a strong social business model.

To qualify for the Competition, a proposed entrant team must:

  • prove the financial sustainability or profitability of its business,
  • identify and quantify the social and/or environmental impact of its project,
  • include at least one graduate business student from any business school in the world (business school, university,..) or an individual who has graduated from a graduate business program within the past two years
(If you team does not include a graduate student at this stage, you will have the possibility to meet students who are looking for an experience in entrepreneurship)
  • include a person who is able to present the business plan in English.

Note: if you are very interested in social entrepreneurship but you do not have any precise project at this stage, feel free to contact us and we will put you in touch with an entrant entrepreneur.

You will find all the documents necessary to your participation on this website
